Mara Vișinescu

A philologist and translator by training, Sonsoles has been working in English, Spanish and French for international organizations since 1995. She commenced her career at the European Foundation Centre in Brussels, moving to work for IUCN Mediterranean in 2004 in Malaga. She is also the author of various articles in the magazines of the Spanish Ministry of Environment and Andalusia’s government, and has been responsible for IUCN institutional yearly reporting at Mediterranean level from 2006 to 2015. She pursues her career also as an independent editor and consultant on multilingual publications.

Sonsoles joined ETC-UMA in 2016 as Communication officer to support the establishment of a two-way communication channel with the scientific community, promoting an effective communication of ETC-UMA´s outcomes and the establishment of a strong science-policy interface particularly on biodiversity protection and sustainable development.
